The President of the Internet is a Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) competition. Basically, whoever ranks number one in Google for the term "President of the Internet" is the winner.
Anyone can run for president by creating their own webpage, and anyone can vote by linking to their favorite candidate's page. Because people are continually voting and new candidates are joining the competition every day, the title of President of the Internet can, and will, change regularly. To remain President for any length of time requires constant dedication to the cause - if only real elections worked in this way!
